Free Information Technology Education to Be Provided to One Million Young People in Punjab

Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, the Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab, has made an announcement that one million young people will receive free online information technology training to assist them in becoming self-sufficient.

The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and Re-Skills, a Malaysian company for students seeking information online, have agreed to the terms of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which has now been signed.

Young people are going to be provided with unpaid online information technology training according to the MOU. According to the statement made by the CM, the completion of these training courses will result in the creation of millions of prospects for self-employment.

Young people between the ages of 16 and 30 will not be charged for the training that will be provided to them. In order to cover the costs of the training, the government of Punjab will get a technical grant from the Malaysian corporation in the amount of $12 million.

The Chief Minister also stated that the young people will be given access to premium learning accounts for a period of one year and that the government will provide every facility that is necessary to both domestic and international technology companies in order to assist in supporting the training program.

The instruction will be delivered via an online platform, making it simple for young people to access even if they do not have cell phones.
