Free computer programming classes will be offered to young women at Karachi's newest digital school

The Sindh Education Commission and the Telecom Foundation collaborated with the Federal Minister for Telecommunications and Information Technology, Syed Amin-ul-Haq, to open a digital training school in the Orangi Town neighborhood of Karachi.

During his remarks, the minister expressed his excitement at the news that young women living in Orangi Town, which has been known for a long time as South Asia's largest slum, will now receive free training in digital technology.

According to him, women who successfully complete the Computer Science Programming course would have the ability to earn between $80 and $150 per hour working online.

Although the minister claims that there are no mobile phone production firms in Pakistan, there are still 29 companies working towards the goal of assisting consumers in making money via the purchase of inexpensive phones.

The Head of Region for the Telecom Foundation, Azam Khan, disclosed that there are no fees associated with attending this school, which is situated in Orangi Town, the largest slum in Asia. The President of the Telecom Foundation stated that the organization will engage in further projects of this nature in Orangi in the days and years to come.
